Online Ordering and Nutrition Info??

Yes, yes.  We know we are running behind on both our receipt nutritional information and our online ordering system.  But don’t fret, we are VERY close to launching both of them.  We have a few menu changes coming up in the next few days and once they are implemented, online ordering and nutritional receipts should follow !!

People Are Loving Our Gluten Free Flatbread

We have been working hard on perfecting our gluten free technique.  Saw a blog post today where some people came into the Mod and were psyched about our gluten free creations.  Nice to see our hard work is paying off!  Gluten free dough is incredibly tricky to work with (especially when you try and make thin crust, crispy flatbread with it) but our crew has been doing a fantastic job with it lately.  Good stuff.

‘You Had Me At The Bathroom’

This is a direct quote from a customer and it made my day.  We worked really hard to create the best possible bathroom experience at Modmarket, it is great to see that customers have noticed :-)   And if you haven’t tried our Dyson Airblade yet to dry your hands, you are really missing out.

Kids Love Modmarket

Cute kids chowing down on gluten free flatbread.  Modmarket, improving kids health, one flatbread at a time :-)

Local Produce & South Africa

photo(26)

We try to buy local produce whenever possible here at Modmarket.  Colorado has a pretty short growing season though, so a lot of times, the localist we can get is from California, Arizona or Texas.  If it is not possible to get things from our region, we will just take them off the menu till they come back.  In any event, I was cruising the local Safeway yesterday and saw oranges on sale for $.99 a pound.  I went ahead and bought a few.  Imagine my surprise this morning when I was peeling one and realized it was from SOUTH AFRICA.  Why is it even legal to import fruit from South Africa into the US?  I think we can do without oranges for the few weeks out of the year when a US growing region is not serving them up.  To make it even worse, I didn’t even think of looking at the label, I just assumed they had to be from the US.  Had there been a sign that actually said where these were from, there is NO WAY I would have purchased them.  Argggggg.  I know that always buying local is not possible – but oranges from South Africa?

Salads For Little Ones

Neither Rob nor myself have kids.  That being said, from the moment we thought about creating Modmarket, we felt very strongly about making a place where parents could bring kids and the kids would be psyched to eat healthy food.  I have always felt that how you present the food makes in a big difference in whether kids will like it or not.  We did a good job with our flatbreads – they are cut into little slices which makes them perfect hand food for kids.  They love chowing down on our lightly cheesed, whole grain dough creations.  Salads were another story.  I had no idea little kids don’t dig lettuce.  Luckily for us, a savvy customer told us ‘you really need to get some containers so parents can just pick out a few ingredients they know their kid will like and then they can pick at that’.  Done and done.  Introducing the modmarket ‘little salad’.  Three little bowls joined together that you can fill with any of our salad topping.  Getting junior to eat his veggies could not be any easier.  Just ask little Stark (pictured above), he was pumped about his.

Now Serving: Boulder Soup Works

boulder-soup-works-logo Starting today, we are going to be offering tasty soups by Boulder Soup Works.  This local company makes the best tasting (and healthiest) soups I have ever had.  You may have sampled their goodness at the Farmer’s Market in Boulder (stop bythe FM today and say hi, we gave them a bunch of coupons to hand out).  All of the soups are gluten free and many are vegan.  We are going to be offering up two soups per day and changing up the varieties quite frequently.  For the next few days, we have Potato Leek and Red Lentil Dahl on tap.  Combined with our just in time for cool weather grilled cheese flatbread, our soups are a fantastic way to warm up your day.
